Can You Put Two or Three Pets on One Custom Blanket?

By Sophie, co-founder of Beast + Bonbon. Updated October 2026.

Short answer: Yes. You can put two or three pets on one custom blanket, and they do not need to be in the same photo. Send one clear photo of each pet, and our designers place them together in one portrait, each with their name. Dogs and cats can share a blanket. For three pets, a Medium or Large size gives every face more room.

This guide is for homes with more than one pet: two dogs who are never apart, a dog and a cat who share the sofa, or three animals who all deserve a spot in the picture. It covers photos, layout, names and size, so you know what to expect before you order.

Can two or three pets go on one custom blanket?

Yes, a custom woven blanket can show up to 3 pets together, with their names. They can be dogs, cats or other pets, in any mix. Leaving one pet out rarely feels right. In a 2023 Pew Research Center survey of 5,073 US adults, 97% of pet owners said their pets are part of the family, and a family portrait should include everyone.

A blanket with several pets works well for:

  • Bonded pairs: littermates, or two dogs who grew up together.
  • Mixed homes: a dog and a cat, or a cat and a rabbit.
  • Family gifts: all the "grandpets" on one blanket for a parent or grandparent.
  • A new arrival: the older pet and the new puppy or kitten, side by side.

Do the pets need to be in the same photo?

No, separate photos are fine, and they are often easier. Getting two or three animals to look at the camera at once is hard. Our designers create each pet's portrait from its own photo and bring them together in one design.

For the best result, pick photos that match a little:

  • One clear photo per pet, taken in daylight with both eyes visible.
  • A similar angle for each, such as all facing the camera, so the pets look like they belong together.
  • Markings in view. If a pet looks different on each side, send an extra photo of the other side.
  • A note on who is who. Say which name goes with which photo, and how each name is spelled.

How does the layout work with more than one pet?

The designers arrange your pets together in one design, and you see the whole layout on a free proof by email within 24 hours. Nothing is woven until you approve it, and revisions are free, so you can ask for changes until it feels right. If you want to see each step from photo to finished blanket, read how a photo becomes a woven pet blanket.

Before you order, think about these choices and mention them in your note:

Choice Questions to ask yourself
Order Who goes on the left, right or in the middle? You might put the oldest pet in the center.
Size of each pet Should a small cat and a big dog look true to size, or closer to the same size?
Names Each pet's name, spelled the way you say it at home.
Small extras Paw prints or another small detail you would like added.
Style and color Original, Floral, Golfer, Orchids or Christmas, in cream, navy, blush or sage.

A simple color tip: dark coats stand out on cream, and light coats stand out on navy. If your pets are a mix of dark and light, look at the proof and ask for a change if one pet disappears into the background.

What size blanket is best for two or three pets?

For two pets, the Medium is a good fit. For three pets, the Medium or Large gives each face more room. Every pet you add shares the same space, so the more pets on the blanket, the more a bigger size helps.

Size Measurements Price Good fit for
Small 52" x 37" $105 One pet, or two small pets, as a lap throw
Medium 60" x 50" $125 Two pets on a sofa throw (our best seller)
Large 80" x 60" $165 Three pets, a bed, or hanging on a wall

What if you have more than three pets?

With four or more pets, split them across more than one piece:

  • Two pieces that match: a blanket with three pets and a woven pillow in the same color for the next one.
  • A framed illustration: a local illustrator can draw a whole crew on one page for the wall.
  • A group photo session: a pet photographer can help you get everyone in one real photo.

Can a dog and a cat, or a pet who has died, share one blanket?

Yes to both. Dogs and cats look lovely together on a woven blanket, and other pets can join them too. Cats rarely pose, so a relaxed photo of your cat on the sofa is fine next to a sitting photo of your dog. The designers will match the look across the design.

You can also add a pet who has died next to the pets still at home. It can be a gentle way to keep the whole family together in one picture. If that is your plan, say so in your note, and choose a calm style such as Original in cream or sage.

How our custom pet blanket works

  • Up to 3 pets on one blanket, with their names. Dogs, cats or other pets, from separate photos.
  • Our designers create the portrait from your photos and check every detail by hand, then it is woven from 100% cotton yarn in the USA.
  • Woven, not printed: the picture is made of the yarn, so there is no printed layer to fade, crack or peel.
  • A free design proof arrives by email within 24 hours. Revisions are free.
  • Delivery takes 8 to 12 days after you approve the proof. Standard shipping is free on orders over $125.

Questions people ask

Can I get a custom pet blanket with two dogs on it?

Yes. A custom woven blanket from Beast + Bonbon can show two or three pets with their names. The dogs do not need to be in the same photo. Send one clear photo of each dog, and our designers combine them into one design that you approve on a free proof.

Do my pets need to be photographed together?

No. Separate photos work well and are usually easier. Choose one clear daylight photo of each pet, ideally from a similar angle, and say which name goes with which photo. The designers place the pets together in one portrait.

Can a dog and a cat go on the same blanket?

Yes. Dogs, cats and other pets can share one blanket, up to 3 pets in total, each with their name. A relaxed photo of your cat works fine next to a sitting photo of your dog, because the designers match the look across the design.

What size blanket should I get for three pets?

For three pets, choose the Medium (60 by 50 inches, $125) or the Large (80 by 60 inches, $165). All the pets share the same space, so a larger blanket gives each face more room. For two pets, the Medium is a good starting point.

What if my only photo of one pet is old or blurry?

It can often still work. The designers can improve lighting and recreate missing details, and you can email several photos to hello@beastbonbon.com. You will see how each pet looks on the proof before anything is woven.

How long does a blanket with several pets take?

The same as a single pet. You get a free design proof by email within 24 hours, and after you approve it, delivery takes 8 to 12 days. For Christmas delivery in the US, order by December 10.
